looking for shows for the detour!
posted by aaron on Tuesday, February 8 2005 @ 2:43 PM

Welp, I have finally figured out what I wanted to do with the detour. I am going to be playing a mix of music and shows. These shows will be anything from talk to playing music. What I will be doing is opening time slots from 8am-12am EST for whoever to submit material to be broadcast on the detour. The material can be anything from preaching, to playing any music you'd like.

I have found a lot of produced shows by people that do "Podcasting." Podcasting are shows that are produced by anyone and everyone. There are thousands of shows that are produced either daily, or weekly. Many of them are awesome, and I have enjoyed previewing them. I will be trying to recruit more people to submit their shows to be added to the detour.

Soon, I will have a form for people to fill out to submit their shows. While I work on that though, feel free to e-mail s@aaronsnet.com a description of the show, and also where can go to download it. We also need to know who is on the show, when it is usually updated, etc.

At the present time, the detour is in beta testing mode while we try some new shows out, and see how this thing is actually going to work. As soon as we get enough content and it working right, we will officially get the detour running again!

automated request system back up, other updates
posted by aaron on Tuesday, January 18 2005 @ 12:06 AM

Hey peoples! Its been a few months, but things are starting to cook, especially after the Christmas break is over! The automated request system is now up and features a search feature instead of sifting through all of our songs in a single file. You do need to be logged into your nada in order to access it. You can then automatically request the song, and it will be played within a timely fashion (except on Sundays when the automated request system is down due to Christian Music Sunday). Check it out!

We are also updating our playlists to include more music from the 90s, and more new music! We have also slowly been going through our playlist to make sure that we have censored versions of most of our songs!

At the present time, the detour is in a planning stage. We are looking at new ideas, including turning it into a public broadcast server to allow anyone who would like to connect and broadcast whatever they would like. We are also looking at featuring a certain genre a night. the detour was very popular throughout the Christmas holiday, and we want to continue the popularity. If you have any ideas, feel free to contact us with any suggestions you might have!

We are still looking for more DJ's! If you or anyone you might know, please feel free to point them to our website (http://aaronsnet.com/s/) for all of the details with DJ'ing with the new S channel or the detour!

We hope that you all have a great 2005, and we are looking foward to seeing the expansion of the new S channel!
