DJ application information
the new S channel's DJ staff consists of people who love music. We want people that have to have music on in the background while driving down the road, get a song stuck in your head all day, etc. We want all of our DJ's to have a true appreciation of the music that they listen to. So if this fits you, and you have a few hours out of the week to DJ for the new S channel, then we invite you to jump aboard with us! We have open time slots, and need DJs. So first, here is the kind of shows we are looking for.

We need either recorded or live shows. More about each of them:

Recorded shows usually work better because all you have to do is record your show (which is easy to do), send it to us, and we throw it on at a specified time, ususally more then once. A recorded show allows you, the DJ, to be able to prepare your show in advance. It allows you to edit, and make any changes that you might want to do to it. It also allows us to bypass a load of technical issues that come with broadcasting live. What kind of show are we looking for? Anything! If you have a favorite genre of music, and want to play just that, then thats cool. If you want to do a top 10 show, themed show, then thats cool. We are pretty open to whatever type of show you are wanting to do. All that we ask is that it contain clean versions of any songs and keep the DJ commentary cussing to a minimum. We also ask that you limit the show to the amount of time you signed up for. Lets say you signed up for a 2 hour slot, then please don't make it longer then that. Thats it! We love originality! If you don't know how to record your show and need help, no sweat. Its easier then you think, and can be done on most computers with a little program, a microphone, and a CD player. We will be glad to help you with the setup!

Live shows are more difficult to setup. First off, with a live show, depending on your available resources and what we could setup would depend on if a live show would be available for you to do or not. Live shows first require that you have a broadband, or high speed internet connection. You must also have access to port 1221, and not be behind a firewall. Depending on your setup, you may or may not be able to use a microphone. Doing a live show really just depends on each individual situation. If you are interested in doing a live show, we will get in touch with you and figure out exactly what your situation is.

Ok, so now you know about the kind of show we are looking for. Now, here is when we need people/shows.

Sunday: looking for Christian related show, including Christian music to be included with Christian Music Sunday.
Monday: any themed show, any time slot available!
Tuesday: any themed show, any time slot available!
Wednesday: any themed show, any time slot available!
Thursday: any themed show, any time slot available!
Friday: any themed show, any time slot available!
Saturday: any themed show, any time slot available!

So you know what we need, when we need you, and now, lets look at the minimum requirements for being a DJ on the new S channel:

-be at least 15 years old
-If doing a recorded show, have your own music.
-Be able to COMMIT to having show produced the day before actual airing will occur.
-Be able to attach/send e-mail. (This is the primary way that we recieve shows from others.)
-Be able to speak good English.
-have a aaronsnet.com nada account. (used for staff options, handling requests, etc.)
-Have a microphone available for your show.

Basically, meeting the requirements of being a DJ really doesn't take that much at all. We don't care what what country your in, just as long as you can meet these basic requirements!

One final thing we would like to touch on is actually the time it takes to produce a show. When recording a show, you have to allow the time to plan what you are going to play, say, and then record the show. Lets say you signed up for the Saturday 8-9pm EST slot. Well, by Friday evening, we would need that show produced and in our e-mail so that we can set it up to play the next day. If you are already streched to the max with your time, you should greatly consider if you have time to commit to recording a show weekly. Basically, we just want to make sure that you have the time to commit to whatever time slot we give to you is all!

So what are the benefits of becoming a DJ? Well We would pay you if we could, but, currently, we don't even make any money. There are some perks that you may like.

1. A special username/access rights on aaronsnet.com nada (the prefix DJ_ will be added to show that you do DJ on the new S channel)
2. An aaronsnet.com (soon, we will be purchasing a special domain just for the new S channel) e-mail address where requests/personal e-mail will be sent so that you don't mix your DJing communications up with your regular e-mail.
3. Special administration section to manage the new S channel while you DJ [manage requests, etc.] (more details will be given once approved to be a DJ.)
4. Access to special message board just for DJs to converse with admin.
5. Get a special page on the new S channel's website promoting your show.
6. Have your name, picture, and details added to the "DJ" page on the new S channel's page.
7. Have special promotion added to the rotation on the new S channel which promotes your show.
8. Suggest songs to be added to the playlist.
plus more!

Alright! That about covers all of the basics! There are a lot more things to talk about, but this will get you through filling out the application at least.

ready to fill out the application! | blah, I don't think I can right now!
